2 Timothy 1:9-10

God has saved us and called us to be holy – not because of anything we ourselves have done but for his own purpose and by his own grace. This grace had already been granted to us, in Christ Jesus, before the beginning of time, but it has only been revealed by the appearing of our saviour Christ Jesus. He abolished death, and he has proclaimed life and immortality through the Good News.

The Very Rev'd Justin Welby.

Justin Welby

Bishop Justin said: "To become Bishop of Durham is a huge privilege for many reasons. It is an ancient Diocese, going way back before England itself existed. The heritage is extraordinary; Bishops of Durham stand on the shoulders of some of the greatest Christians that Europe has produced, from the 7th century to the 21st. On this Ascension Day, I am reminded that the job is above all to ensure the Church of England is renewed in faith and experience of the power of God so that it can play its part in serving one of the most exciting and vibrant parts of the country.

"Coming here means being part of a remarkable community grounded in history but always moving forwards. Because of the heritage and the strength of the area, to be a good Bishop here is about as challenging as it gets."

Please do pray for Bishop Justin and his family... that he might receive Godly patience.

If you are looking for Jesus and for answers, then your search is the key. Jesus said, 'If you seek me you will find me…'  Often people who search for Jesus don't find answers - just deeper questions, deeper meanings.  My prayer is that you may find something of Jesus within these pages...

We are an Anglican Church (that is, Church of England) in the centre of the Market Town of Crook, situated in a beautiful part of County Durham.
